INDIANAPOLIS (April 24, 2016) – Late Sunday night, Republican presidential candidates Ted Cruz and John Kasich agreed to team up to try and stop Donald Trump from securing the Republican nomination, in hopes of forcing a contested GOP convention.

“Our goal is to have an open convention in Cleveland, where we are confident a candidate capable of uniting the party and winning in November will emerge as the nominee,” Kasich’s chief strategist John Weaver said in a statement.
