Gun scare leads to lockdown at Ball State Thursday night

Muncie, Ind. — A lockdown was lifted at Ball State University in Muncie after a report of two armed men on campus Thursday night.

According to our affiliate WTHR, the men were spotted near Woodworth and DeHorty halls.

Students received text messages, emails and in some halls public announcements to stay updated on the situation. The university also tweeted out the information.

Officers searched the area until they deemed it to be safe.

Just after 10 pm, the university tweeted:
“Shelter in place has been lifted. There is no ongoing threat. UPD continues to investigate”.
