Illinois millionaires make six-figure donations to Eric Holcomb and John Gregg’s campaigns


Setting aside the two state’s longtime rivalry over jobs, wealthy Illini have made six-figure donations on both sides of Indiana’s governor’s race.

Last April, Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner, a Republican, told the Chicago Tribune he wanted to “rip the economic guts out of Indiana” following the Hoosier state’s passage of the controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which was spearheaded by Gov. Mike Pence.
