Indiana Secretary of State visits students at Riley High School Indiana Secretary of State visits students at Riley High School

Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson dropped by Riley High School Thursday to discuss finances with students.

She’s promoting the ‘Indiana Moneywise Campaign’, a resource anyone can use to learn more about managing finances and the language that comes with it.

Riley High School’s finance classes use the tool in their curriculum and Lawson says it’s never too soon to learn about handling money.

“And I realize it’s a little early for a freshman to learn that. But, I really believe that the more emphasis that we can put on it as adults for them to learn early, the more they can protect themselves. The more financially literate they’ll be. And they’re not going to worry about being taken advantage of in a get-rich-quick scheme when they’re in trouble financially,” said Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson.

You can find Moneywise resources on the Secretary of State’s website.
