ISP trooper hurt in I-465 crash on city’s south side

INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) – An Indiana State Police trooper was taken to the hospital after he was involved in a crash on I-465 early Thursday.

The crash happened near the East St. exit on I-465 on the city’s south side around 2:30 Thursday morning.

ISP officials say the trooper was stopped on the side of the interstate because of debris in the roadway. They say it appears some small pieces of aluminum had been spilled onto the road.

The trooper was stopped with his lights on when another driver crashed into his car. Police say they believe the woman was speeding at the time.

Both the trooper and the other driver were taken to the hospital.
