Jurors in case against accused ‘Grundy Crew’ hit man can’t come to verdict, causing hung jury

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A jury deliberating the fate of an accused hit man for a criminal gang in Indianapolis could not come to a verdict Wednesday, causing a judge to order a mistrial.

John Means is charged with carrying out a pair of murders on the city’s north side in February 2014. Julius Douglas and Carlos Jefferson were shot dozens of times in the 3400 block of Hovey Street because they allegedly crossed Richard Grundy, head of the gang.
