Mother Geraldine Springer Passes at 97 Years Young

Geraldine Springer, 97 was born June 26, 1920 to Warner and Daisy Bell in Xenia, Ohio. She peacefully departed this earthly life on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at her residence.

Affectionately know as Geraldine or Gerry, she accepted Christ at an early age.   She loved the Lord and enjoyed singing, being a musician for several area churches, and a member of Greater Grace Church.  She was employed by the City of Muncie and retired from the Traffic and Records Department after 34 years of service.


Mother Springer was the proud matriarch to six generations.  She leaves to cherish her memory; one son, James (Ivory) Johnson of Canton, Michigan; two daughters, Theresia Johnson of Renton, Washington and Harriette Ware of Kalamazoo, Michigan; and adopted son Dr. Jeff Taylor of Memphis, Tennessee; She raised two special grandchildren Kathy Motley of Muncie, Indiana and Tony (Sue) Vargas, Kalamazoo, Michigan and a great-grandson, DeWayne (Jerrika) Johnson.  She also leaves a host of beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grands, along with special friends; Ted Vanleer, Lily Johnson, Evelyn Toby, and Judy Estes.

She was preceded in death by her husband; George Springer, a Grand-daughter Harriette Louise Barton (Sissy) and her parents.
