Police: Tipton teacher arrested for child seduction was investigated in 2015

TIPTON, Ind. (WTHR) – Tipton police arrested a high school teacher last Thursday on 10 felony counts of child seduction.

The investigation began after police received a tip which alleged activity involving a juvenile high school student.

Police say that the school conducted an investigation in 2015 about a possible relationship between Engle and the student.

Tipton PD tells us that, at the time, the school found no evidence of misconduct. Police say Engle was told not to have contact with the student involved in the investigation. They say he disobeyed that order.

According to the Tipton High School web site, Engle teaches Industrial Technology. He has been suspended from the school with pay.
