St. Joseph Co. to discuss LGBTQ rights ordinance

ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) – Discussions on a human rights ordinance will take place Tuesday, in order to protect the rights of the LGBTQ community in St. Joseph County.

Council members Diana Hess, Rafael Morton and Mark Catanzarite co-sponsored the effort and say it could benefit the local economy.

Not everyone agrees though. Some against the ordinance say sexual orientation is a choice that goes against Christian morals.

The council assigned a committee to research the measure further, and plans to hold a meeting with public comment sometime next month, prior to voting on it.
