Woman charged in fight that ended with ND football player’s arrest

SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) More charges have been filed from the August fight outside of the Linebacker Lounge that resulted in the suspension of a Notre Dame football player.

The incident in late August led to the arrest of cornerback Devin Butler after he was accused of a scuffle with police.

In October, Butler agreed to a plea agreement. In exchange for a guilty plea, the resisting law enforcement charge was reduced from a felony to a misdemeanor.

Butler maintains that he was trying to break up a fight between his girlfriend and another woman.

New charges have been filed from that original fight.

Butler’s girlfriend, 22-year-old Haleigh Bailey, is accused of striking another woman in the face and kicking her. She’s been charged with felony battery.

The woman who was hit reported symptoms of a concussion following the fight.
